When the groom sees who his mother is bringing to his wedding, he reacts immediately

Reddit - The mother of a groom (30) got the "Something Old, New, Borrowed & Blue" tradition a little wrong when she showed up at her son's wedding with a person from his past life. The almost-married man therefore unceremoniously excluded his mother from the celebrations.

The groom poured his heart out on Reddit under the username"ThrowRAOpposite_Poet" and told users about the unbelievable incident on what should have been the best day of his life:

His mother had brazenly brought her son's ex-girlfriend to the wedding ceremony as her plus one. However, this action was not meant to be funny.

At first, everything looked like a great celebration: The 30-year-old groom wrote on Reddit about a small-scale ceremony with only the closest family circle and really best friends in attendance. The rest of the guests then joined him at the reception later in the day.

His parents, who had separated and remarried when he graduated from college, were also on the guest list. However, his mother didn't show up with her new partner as expected, but with Margo - the groom's ex.

"I wanted to freak out, but June [the bride, editor's note] calmed me down," explains the 30-year-old. Beforehand, he describes how terrible the relationship with the aforementioned Margo was and that it took the help of his friends and sister to break up. His mother was "very upset" about this, he continues.

A year later, he met June, who was not only a fabulous match for the 30-year-old, but was also able to stand up to his mother. "She set clear boundaries, which I really admired, and she even helped me to do the same," says the groom. "My mom hated that, called June controlling and wished I hadn't broken up with my former girlfriend Margo, who my mom loved."

Despite her opinion, the two eventually got engaged and quickly planned their wedding. Of course, the fact that his ex-partner turned up there was an absolute shock for the 30-year-old. "I went over, pulled them both aside and simply told them to leave." His mother then tried to convince him that Margo and he were soul mates and that his bride would only get in the way of true love.

But the newlywed remained firm: "I didn't care. I just had my best friends escort her out and returned to the party, where I was fortunately able to relax and enjoy myself after a few moments."
