Together with Sony, Nintendo wants to bring the first part of the live-action trilogy to cinemas on March 26, 2027.

The gaming giant announced this on Saturday via its new"Nintendo Today!" app, a good year and a half after the film adaptation was announced.

According to Merkur, the filming of the adventures of Link and Princess Zelda is expected to start in New Zealand in November this year.

The film will be directed by Wes Ball (44), who has already directed hits such as "Planet of the Apes" and "Maze Runner". Shigeru Miyamoto (72), creator of the franchise, will act as producer, as he did for the "Super Mario" film.

Avi Arad (76), a famous producer who has already worked on many "Marvel " projects, will also be involved in the adaptation of the video game classic.

Further details, such as who will portray the heroes, whether the film series will adopt the plot of one of the well-known video games or whether a new story will be told, are still unclear.
