Man sends "worrying" messages - then his dismembered girlfriend (†29) is found
Orlando (USA) - A shocking find in the USA: police officers discovered a suitcase on the side of a road containing the dismembered body of a young woman. Her partner, of all people, is now on trial.
But what had actually happened?
On October 29 of this year, a good friend of Jorge Javier Quintero (41) received some "worrying" messages from his pal. As reported by People magazine, it is unclear what exactly was written in it. However, it prompted the man to contact the police.
And they immediately set off, only to make a gruesome discovery in Quintero's apartment.
The bathroom was covered in blood and they also found a bloody knife and bloody clothing.
The investigation also led the uniformed officers to another apartment nearby. Quintero actually wanted to move into this one soon with his girlfriend, Carmen Elsa Escalante Carrera (29). Here, too, everything was full of bloody evidence.
However, there was no trace of either Quintero or his partner. The officers therefore launched a nationwide manhunt.
The first success came after just two days: the 41-year-old was located in the US state of Georgia, where he was shot by police officers.
Quintero was then taken to hospital. His condition was critical but stable.
Jorge Javier Quintero allegedly brutally murdered his girlfriend
Meanwhile, the search for Carrera continued until a suitcase was found on a road in the state of Georgia.
Inside was the dismembered, naked body of the 29-year-old. An electric cable was wrapped around her neck.
Although the motive has not yet been established, Quintero was charged at the beginning of the week.
He will soon have to stand trial. The accusation: he is alleged to have been the one who brutally murdered his partner.
