Man burns his thumb: a few days later he loses both legs!
Kiowa (USA) - It was supposed to be an unforgettable trip in the US state of Colorado, but for a 40-year-old man the camping trip ended in a nightmare!

As the Daily Mail reports, Max Armstrong burned his thumb on a frying pan while cooking pasta.
At first, the 40-year-old didn't think anything of it - after all, he had often suffered scratches, cuts and burns.
He simply wrapped a bandage around it. But a short time later, his left leg swelled up and his toenails turned purple.
Days later, he was in so much pain that his friends drove him to the emergency room.
Max lost both legs

What the doctors discovered at the hospital shocked them: his thumb was black - the blood infection had turned into life-threatening sepsis!
Max was immediately put into an induced coma while the sepsis continued to spread to his legs. The doctors had little hope, but after six days he woke up.
Unfortunately, the doctors were unable to save his legs. They recommended amputation.
Today, the 40-year-old is in a wheelchair and requires ongoing medical care, including special prosthetic legs and intensive physiotherapy.
