New York (USA) - This date turned out very differently than one young woman had imagined. Fortunately, she can laugh about it today.
As comedian Val Parker revealed in a video on TikTok , she recently had a date with a gentleman in a bar. And this meeting was extremely strange right from the start.
She had hurried and arrived five minutes early - only to see the guy sitting at a table with a drink in his hand.
Val was certain that this was his ploy to make sure he didn't have to buy her anything. And this suspicion was confirmed shortly afterwards.
As soon as the young woman approached her date, he asked her if she wanted a drink. When she smiled and said yes, he pointed towards the bar and indicated that she should order something. Very charming.
After Val had got her own drink, she came back to the table and sat down. Her counterpart's eyes almost popped out of his head. He stared at her speechlessly for a moment and mumbled to himself that nothing like this had ever happened to him before.
The reason for his horror: Val had only ordered a water instead of an alcoholic drink.

After three minutes of him saying that he couldn't believe it, Val finally managed to steer the conversation in a different direction and asked him about his job.
The young man immediately took this as an opportunity to tell her that he was working from home on his doctor's orders - because he always had so much phlegm in his throat.
And as if all this wasn't strange enough, Val's date started slurring his words after his second beer.
Fortunately, the date soon came to an end and the man made his way home. Just as Val was about to leave, two young women approached them.
"Hey, we didn't mean to overhear you, but ... Was that by any chance the worst date you've ever been on?" they asked, to which Val could only laugh: "Unfortunately not."
