Together with four other filming partners, the 52-year-old jumped out of a hot air balloon on Tuesday, reported the Spanish newspaper"El País". Suarez's parachute was the only one that did not open.

Without slowing down, the stuntman hit the ground near the city of Toledo. His lifeless body was found shortly after the other parachutists had landed. Rescue workers were unable to do anything for him.

The fatal jump took place during the filming of the movie "La Fiera" ("The Beast"). The film was actually scheduled for release next year.

According to a report in the magazine"Marca", the film revolves around the "pioneers of the Spanish base jump". In the scene that would ultimately end in his death, Suárez was supposed to synchronize the stunt of the main actor.

The production company "Atresmedia Cine and Mod Productions" expressed its condolences in a statement on Tuesday and spoke of a "fatal accident".

According to "Atresmedia", the jump took place under "strict safety measures". Suárez was also a "great expert in climbing, parachuting and base jumping".
