The two teenagers have been found guilty in Sweden for the brutal murder of a 14-year-old girl.

The district court in Lund in southern Sweden came to the conclusion that the 15-year-old and the 13-year-old killed their victim together last summer.

The 15-year-old was therefore sentenced to two years and two months in a closed institution for juvenile offenders for murder.

The 13-year-old is still too young to be sentenced due to her age. However, she was also found guilty of murder.

The two girls must also jointly pay compensation to the 14-year-old's surviving dependants.

The 14-year-old was killed last July in a secluded industrial area in Landskrona, around 40 kilometers north of Malmö.

According to the public prosecutor's office, she was lured to the small town in the belief that she had been invited to a party.

At the scene of the crime, she was then attacked, tied up and subjected to severe violence by the other girls she knew. She died as a result of her injuries. The case caused great horror in Sweden.

The two young perpetrators admitted that they had planned and carried out the abuse of their victim together. They also sent short video clips of the crime to a chat group set up on the same day.

However, they deniedthe accusation of murder because they had not intended to kill the 14-year-old.
