Bloody attack in Belgrade: shots fired at German boxing star
Belgrade (Serbia) - Shots fired in the city center, traces of blood on the ground outside a restaurant: Serbia's capital Belgrade was the scene of a shooting early Friday morning. According to the police, at least two people fell victim to the bullets, including Mario Daser (36).

According to media reports, the German heavyweight boxer and self-made millionaire was injured in a gunfight in a trendy pub in the heart of the city center.
At around 3 a.m., an as yet unknown man opened fire on the 36-year-old.
He was injured and is said to have been taken to the emergency room with two gunshot wounds to his lower leg. This was announced by"Telegraf.rs" just a few hours after the crime.
According to the news platform, a man five years younger also sustained injuries to his neck and arm. Like Daser himself, he is said to have been taken to the emergency center in a private vehicle.
It is not known who was behind the attack or what the possible motive was. Investigations being conducted by the senior public prosecutor's office should now provide further information.
Mario Daser - a career with light and shade
Daser made his debut as a professional boxer in 2009 and has won all 14 fights since then. The father of two has won seven of them by knockout!
However, his life away from the ring has not always gone according to plan: the Munich-born fighter has already served three prison sentences - and also had a moving childhood.
In August 2019, the former IBO champion and former WBO European champion was visited and arrested by a task force. Daeser, the former managing director of a gravel works, was held in custody for eleven months on suspicion of serious fraud.
However, he was released a year later and has been working in the prefabricated house construction industry ever since.
