A note hangs in the hallway: the answer is not long in coming

USA - A night shift worker was actually just appealing to his neighbors for a little more peace and quiet, but he probably didn't expect this response.

This note was stuck in the hallway of an apartment building one day. A reply was not long in coming.

A resident (35) of the house from an unspecified small town in the Midwest of the USA photographed the note that was hanging in the hallway one day.

It read, "To anyone who runs or lets kids run at 8 or 9 in the morning, sometimes earlier, PLEASE STOP! It's coming from upstairs and it's loud as hell. Some people here work night shifts, thank you very much."

Then the surprise the next day. Another note was written: "Problem solved". Packed with some earplugs.

The American shared the story on Reddit. "The earplugs made me laugh because they matched the absurdity of the note," she toldNewsweek.

She couldn't understand the first note because she had never heard children running in the house. She also thought that 8 or 9 o'clock was "a perfectly reasonable time for people" to be moving around at home.

Notes both disappeared on the third day

On the third day of the note dialog, both were removed again, according to the 35-year-old.

Although there is rarely drama in the apartment building, she is not really surprised by the messages, because "passive aggression is what this city does best," she wrote on her Reddit post.

To "Newsweek," she gets more specific: "In the Midwest, people are known for being 'nice,' but it's often a kind of passive-aggressive behavior. Most people in my area are extremely confrontational and this note is a prime example of passive-aggressive behavior."

The person complaining could have simply slipped a note under the door in their opinion, but he or she chose to leave a note for everyone to see.
