A young man is constantly sneezing: When he goes to the doctor, he is blindsided
Xian (China) - Crazy! Because he kept sneezing, a 23-year-old Chinese man finally went to the doctor. But what the doctor found in his olfactory organ raised a lot of questions.
The Chinese man probably suffered the shock of his life.
As SCMP reported, the man from the city of Xian had been complaining of constant sneezing and a runny nose for quite some time.
At first, the man tried all kinds of home remedies and traditional medicine to solve the problem, but nothing helped.
Finally, the 23-year-old went to hospital, where the doctors diagnosed him with allergic rhinitis (nasal inflammation) and took a thorough x-ray of his olfactory organ.
And what the doctors found was quite something: the man had a metal cube stuck in his nasal cavity for almost 20 years.
Cube found in nose: Patient totally amazed
The patient's nasal cube was removed immediately. Today, the young man can breathe freely again.
"During the rhinoscopy, we discovered a foreign body - a white lump covered in secretions. During the extraction, it turned out to be a two-centimeter cube that had partially rusted because it had been stuck in his nasal cavity for a long time. It was in the lower nasal passage and caused damage to the nasal mucosa," said the attending physician, Dr. Yang Rong.
The doctors emphasize: Cubes in the nose are not harmless. The patient's life was even in acute danger. If the cube had come loose or been improperly removed, the foreign body could have entered the airways and ultimately led to death by asphyxiation.
However, the patient suspects that he stuck the cube up his nose when he was three or four years old. He can no longer remember anything more specific.
