Playa Vista/Texas - A sigh of relief in the USA: for two weeks, there was no trace of an actress who was best known for the popular TV show "Gossip Girl". Now the police have finally been able to locate the 36-year-old - in another state.
Chanel Maya Banks disappeared two weeks ago in Los Angeles. Her worried family had traveled to California after the actress had not been heard from since October 30.
Now Banks has been discovered in Texas, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department announced, according to the New York Post.
The 36-year-old was found unharmed and it is believed that her disappearance is not the fault of anyone else.
What she was up to in the state, which is around an 18-hour drive from her home in Playa Vista, Los Angeles, has not been made public.

The actress ' family was very worried. Cousin Danielle-Tori Singh told ABC 7 Eyewitness News: "Five days without hearing from my cousin is a red flag. She never goes more than 48 hours without talking to me or her mom ... This girl is more like a big sister to me." The US-American had therefore feared "that something was going on".
After the 36-year-old was reported missing, the authorities found her belongings and her dog in Banks' apartment. However, no clues were found as to where she might have gone.
Her cousin then distributed flyers to raise awareness of her relative's disappearance. A private detective was even hired, which the family financed through donations.
