Nose operation by TikTok doctor ends fatally for 22-year-old!
Rome (Italy) - 22-year-old Agata Margarete Spada died last Thursday in Rome after undergoing a nose job that never took place. The doctor who treated her is now under investigation.
Scrolling on TikTok, the Italian woman came across a plastic surgeon whose procedures were offered at a temptingly low price of less than 3,000 euros.
Curious about the private clinic, she browsed through several videos and finally decided to have her nose operated on, reports Roma Today.
Once in Rome, the 22-year-old was given a local anaesthetic for the procedure. However, a tragic incident occurred during the procedure: the young woman fell into a coma and could no longer be saved.
She died three days later in the local hospital.
According to initial investigations, a severe allergic reaction to the anesthetic, which led to anaphylactic shock, may have caused her death.
The doctor is being investigated for manslaughter
After the 22-year-old's death, doubts were raised as to whether the private clinic was even authorized to carry out such procedures and whether it had the necessary equipment.
The public prosecutor's office has since confiscated various documents from the clinic as well as the medication used and initiated proceedings for involuntary manslaughter.
In addition, no signed consent form, no medical records and no other documents or records relating to the young woman's operation were found, which further complicates the investigation.
A post-mortem examination of the 22-year-old's body should now shed light on the exact causes of death.
