Only the daughter survives: Drunk driver kills German family

Asunción - The German consul Kristin B., her children and her Paraguayan husband only moved to the German embassy in Asunción, the capital of Paraguay, in June. Now she and her family have been the victims of a devastating accident caused by a drunk driver.

Last Sunday at around 12.25 p.m., the family was on the country road in the direction of San Bernardino, as reported byBild.

A surveillance camera shows how the accident took its course: The 68-year-old driver of a VW Touareg decided to overtake despite the ban and then crashed into a Kia. Kristin B., her husband and their two children were sitting in the car.

The impact caused the VW to skid across the road and crash into a Hyundai.

For Kristin B., her husband and her son, all help came too late. Only her young daughter survived the terrible accident and was taken to hospital with serious injuries to her lungs and spleen.

There were also several people in the Hyundai, one of whom later died in hospital. According to "Diario Popular", the driver of this car is currently in a critical condition and urgently needs a blood donation.

The person who caused the accident survived

An alcohol test on the driver who caused the fatal accident with his illegal overtaking maneuver revealed that he was driving under the influence of alcohol. According to"ABC Color", he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 1.2 per mille.

He was also injured in the accident and taken to hospital. He is now in custody.
