Heartbreaking: Here, an NFL star and his wife hold their dead son in their arms
Cleveland - It's a photo that breaks your heart. A mom cradles her just-born son in her arms, his dad holds his head protectively in one hand. What is the most beautiful moment of life for millions of people has a terrible drama here, because the little baby is no longer alive.
NFL star Hakeem Adeniji (26) and his wife Kayla lost their child a week ago.
The two share heartbreaking moments of fate on Instagram. They share their pain with the world and show Kayla lying on the operating table in tears. Another video shows the moment when a nurse holds their baby in her arms, but it is no longer breathing.
Instead of a moment in which the American footballer and his wife welcome new life, they face the death of their own child.
"We had to say goodbye to the most perfect, beautiful boy I've ever seen. He had a head full of curls, and daddy's nose. The softest cheeks and big hands. He will always be my son and I will always be his mommy," Kayla writes in moving words.
The little boy's heart had stopped beating around a week before the planned birth and the brave mother had to give birth to the baby she wanted.
Hakeem Adeniji and his wife Kalya had already undergone a long process of artificial insemination
Hakeem got through the hardest hours of his life together with Kayla and said goodbye himself on Instagram.
"There was anger, sadness and emptiness. I will never see him grow up and he will never read the diary I wrote for him," he mourns the loss.
The couple had only been able to fulfill their dream of having their own child through a long process of artificial insemination.
In May, they announced the happy news and Kayla shared her difficult journey on Instagram. She explained how they had been unsuccessfully trying to conceive naturally since November 2023 and how it later became clear that artificial insemination was the only option.
The first transfer failed, Kayla was not pregnant. But the next time it worked. The two of them talked about having four children. Now they have to say goodbye to their first without having spent a single day with him.
