Scandalous video shocks England: A referee insults Jürgen Klopp so badly

Liverpool - Since the summer, Arne Slot (46) has been the new coach on the Liverpool FC touchline, with predecessor Jürgen Klopp (57) officially starting his adventure as "Global Head of Soccer" at Red Bull in January. But now the German's past is catching up with him, and in a really unpleasant way.

A video with scandalous content has surfaced on the internet. In it, the English referee David Coote (42) insults Klopp with violent language. "My God, German f***, f*** me," he says in a conversation with a friend.

It is unclear how the recording ended up on the internet and why it is making such waves now of all times. His statements relate to a match in which the referee was acting as fourth official.

As Coote tells his friend, Klopp gave him a "good thrashing" during the game. His friend asks him for his opinion of the Reds and the Englishman is quick to give his assessment: "shit", he says.

What's more, he has no interest in talking to someone as arrogant as Klopp, so he would avoid a conversation with the cult coach.

The verbal misconduct now has repercussions for the referee. It did not take long for the recording to reach the referee organization of England (PGMOL).

They immediately suspended David Coote. Until the matter has been clarified, the referee is not allowed to referee any games in the Premier League or the English Championship (2nd division) for the time being.

In a second video, the 42-year-old even asked that the video not be posted on the internet. "The last video must not be published anywhere, seriously," he pleads.

This request was granted for over four years, but now Coote had a rude awakening.

If there is a penalty for him, it is likely to be severe and he must fear for his refereeing career.
