Dachshund owners unpack after ten years of board games: Then it gets emotional
Portland (USA) - Even if they are just tiny little things, some everyday things can trigger big emotions. A couple from Oregon, for example, made a discovery in an old board game that would have no meaning for others, but broke their hearts.
The couple, known on TikTok as "crafty_mofos", published a video in which they shared their discovery with the internet.
In the clip, you can see them unpacking a board game that they probably haven't used for ages. In the "Santorini" board game, they came across lots of little hairs next to the game pieces, which had smuggled themselves into the packaging unnoticed the last time they played about ten years ago.
A touching moment for the couple, who have already lost three dogs. Of course, it immediately brings back memories of when the dogs named Pockets, Jobu and Daisy were still jumping around the apartment and losing their fur.
Mongrel Jobu passed away back in 2015, followed four years later by dachshund Pockets. It was only last year that the couple from Portlandhad to say goodbye to their dachshund Daisy.
Video on TikTok: Board game causes emotional moment for dog parents
There was clearly a deep bond between the owners and their pets, so there is no other explanation for the fact that the Americans collected the individual hairs from the board game one by one after their discovery, carefully stowed them in a small glass container and then placed them on a kind of shrine set up in honor of the deceased pets.
"Such a pleasant surprise," the couple wrote on their TikTok profile. Because even though the sight of the dog hair of the dead animals must have been heartbreaking, the dog owners were also able to remember the beautiful moments with their four-legged friends. No one can take these away from them.
Their clip has been viewed well over 55,000 times on TikTok. The viewers' hearts are also heavy: "I don't know why, but that made me burst into tears immediately," writes one user.
