Brutal attack on serial killer: "Crossbow cannibal" beaten up by a victim's friend!
England - A serial killer who ate his victims after the crime was knocked unconscious in prison after being moved to the same wing as a friend of one of his victims.
According to The Sun , the "crossbowcannibal" Stephen Griffiths (54) is currently in the infirmary of the English prison HMP Full Sutton near York.
The fellow inmate who attacked Griffiths is said to have been angry because he was housed in the same wing as the murderer of his girlfriend Suzanne.
An insider reported that the attacker "hurled the cannibal through the air and knocked him unconscious".
Griffiths suffered several bruises and a facial injury when he fell backwards due to the force of the blow.
"The prisoner explained that he knew Suzanne (...) and had grown up with her. (...) He did not know how Griffiths could have known that he knew Suzanne. (...) The inmate who attacked Griffiths felt threatened and feared Griffiths might harm him. That's why he threw him through the air and knocked him unconscious," the source told the newspaper.
Last Sunday evening, prison spokesmen said the incident would be investigated and police may be called.
"Violence is not tolerated in prisons and anyone responsible will be held accountable," they added.
Stephen Griffiths murdered three women
Serial killer Stephen Griffiths was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2010 after pleading guilty to murdering three women.
Between 2009 and 2010, Susan Rushworth (†42), Shelley Armitage (†31) and Suzanne Blamires (†36) fell victim to him. All three women were sex workers.
He got his name "Crossbow-Cannibal" from a surveillance video taken during the murder of Blamires.
It showed the 54-year-old walking down a corridor with a crossbow and giving the camera the middle finger.
In court, he introduced himself under this name, while the prosecutor reported that Griffiths had told officers that he had eaten parts of his victims - this was "part of the magic".
In prison, he tried to take his own life several times and even went on a 120-day hunger strike in 2011, during which he avoided all contact with other people.
