Drama at Niagara Falls: Mother throws child (†9) and baby (†5 months) down the water masses!
Niagara Falls (USA/Canada) - A horrific incident occurred this week on the border of Canada and the USA: a mother (†33) threw herself and her two children down the famous Niagara River Falls. Police are still searching for the family's remains.
With more than 18 million visitors a year, Niagara Falls is one of the most popular attractions in North America. But for many tourists who wanted to see the natural spectacle on Monday, the trip will probably forever have a bad aftertaste.
At around 9 p.m. (local time), officials were alerted to a dramatic incident at the tourist attraction.
US-American Chaianti Means and her children Roman Rossman (†9) and Mecca Means (†5 months) had stepped over the safety railing at Niagara Falls on Luna Island, according to the authorities on Wednesday (local time).
They then plunged down the waters to their deaths!
Chaianti Means (†33) allegedly killed her children
"The investigation revealed that this incident was intentional," said the police.
Rescue and recovery efforts by the authorities have (so far) been unsuccessful. The New York State Police nevertheless firmly believe that all three are dead.
"They have over 15 people patrolling in and around those areas," reported State Trooper James O'Callaghan, according to Spectrum Local News 1, adding that a drone and several boats are also being used in the search.
The exact circumstances of the fatal crash are still under investigation.
