This came as a huge shock to Danielle and it took her a long time to understand what this meant for her future.

Before the stroke, Danielle exercised regularly and met up with friends. Now she finds it difficult to leave the house, she is constantly tired and has physical problems.

Her fiancé Stuart (29) and her parents Mark (60) and Kerry (56) help her to come to terms with what she has experienced and overcome everyday challenges. Although she knows that nothing will ever be the same again as it was before the stroke, she wants to make the best of her life and educate herself.

The now 29-year-old wants to use her story to set an example to improve patient safety and prevent others from experiencing the same thing.

It is also important to her to draw attention to appropriate monitoring when taking the contraceptive pill.
