Dachshund Wilbur from the US state of Washington became a big brother in September. His owners became parents and now the family has one more cute member.

The meeting between Wilbur, the second dachshund Palmer and the baby has already been a success and the dogs seem to have completely accepted the little sister straight away.

Four-legged Wilbur, in particular, looked after the newborn from the very beginning with heartbreaking cuteness.

It seems to be more than important to him that his tiny sister always has something to cuddle. That's why Wilbur started bringing her all the cuddly toys he could find as soon as she arrived at their home.

The dog can be seen sitting calmly and well-behaved in the nursery, only his cute look towards his owner shows that he can hardly wait for the baby to finally wake up. "But she was asleep, so he sat down next to her like this," explains Wilbur's owner.

To pass the waiting time and to thank Wilbur for his great nature, the dog owner spent the next 20 minutes cuddling and caressing her four-legged friend extensively. She thought his gift was "great", she writes. With her behavior, she wanted to show him how much she loved him and "how much his little sister loves him and that he can show her when she wakes up".
