Family drowns in river: Did the mother want to kill her children?
Sydney (Australia) - Tragic incident in Sydney, Australia: a mother and her two children drowned in a river on Saturday. However, the police are investigating whether it really was an accident.

Mother Hoai Doan (32) and her two children Mitchell (7) and Hazel Nguyen (5) were in the George River area near Shearer Park in Lansvale, a suburb of Sydney, on Saturday morning.
At around 10.15am (local time), passers-by observed that the small family suddenly found themselves in distress in the water. After the trio got caught in a strong current, helpers tried to rescue them with boats.
"The police and passers-by immediately launched a search operation for the woman and the two children. Some made their own attempts to rescue them. But unfortunately to no avail," Superintendent Scott told the Daily Mail.
The bodies of the three missing people were not found until around four hours later. According to initial autopsy results, the 32-year-old woman and the two children drowned. It is still unclear whether they had previously fallen into the water or were already swimming in the river.

Investigators are now looking into whether it could have been a deliberate act. The reason: the mother allegedly attacked passers-by who were desperately trying to save the children. Did Doan want Mitchell and Hazel to die?
For the sister of the deceased, the incident seems to be a tragic misfortune. She is collecting donations on GoFundMe to bring the bodies back to her home in Vietnam.
In addition to her sister Sarah Vu, mother Hoai Doan leaves behind her husband and her third and youngest child named Macario (1), who is said to have been in Vietnam with relatives at the time of the tragedy.
