Who remembers her? France's ex-first lady as an angel for Victoria's Secret

New York (USA) - After a six-year break, one of the most famous fashion shows is back in New York: the elite of the fashion industry gathered for Victoria's Secret - from Adriana Lima (43) to Gigi Hadid (29) and Irina Shayk (38). The star of the evening, however, was a former first lady.

Carla Bruni (56), who worked as a model for designers such as Christian Dior, Chanel and Versace back in the 90s, celebrated her debut as an angel on the lingerie company's catwalk on Thursday night.

Although the wife of France's former president Nicolas Sarkozy (69) was the oldest model on the catwalk, she impressed with her charisma and sensual outfit.

Bruni floated down the catwalk in a black corsage, lace tights and the typical angel wings. Alongside Bruni, Ashley Graham (36) was the first curvy model to cause a stir.

Surrounded by numerous dancers, Cher (78) performed some of her greatest hits during the show - from "Strong Enough" to "Believe".

This was the luxury company's response to the increasingly loud criticism in 2019 in the wake of the #MeToo movement that Victoria's Secret was only hiring ultra-thin standard models. Now the company has shown that it can also do diversity - and it's impressive!
