Interpol warns: Global gangs can also destabilize Germany!

New York (USA)/Hamburg - At the end of his term of office, German Interpol Secretary General Jürgen Stock (65) is sounding the alarm: The world is losing to the mafia, and that could have consequences for Germany!

"The world is in danger of losing the fight against transnational organized crime," Stock explained in an interview with the German Press Agency in New York.

The potential of these gangs "to destabilize even industrialized countries, for example in Europe" has already reached unprecedented proportions.

Stock made it clear that the international criminal police organization had clear findings that mafia groups that used to operate regionally had now spread to all parts of the world - with consequences.

"They have become global criminals, they act like global companies," said the high-ranking police officer about the current situation.

They have "astronomical amounts of resources" at their disposal, for example to drive human and arms trafficking and, above all, drug trafficking. Cocaine is a particular problem. Stock will step down from his position at Interpol in November after ten years in office. The Brazilian Valdecy Urquiza (43) has the best chance of succeeding him.
