Satire or tasteless? Bikini reporter causes an uproar after hurricane!

USA - An Instagram model caused a stir last weekend when she uploaded a terrifyingly macabre video: In the middle of the streets flooded by Hurricane Helene, she gave a dubious weather report in a bikini!

Skyler Simpson uploaded the much-criticized video to Instagram three days ago.

Influencer Skyler Simpson wore a neon pink, skimpy bikini and held an umbrella in her hand as she reported on the storm that claimed the lives of at least 160 people.

The strong winds made it very difficult for her to hold the umbrella while she "hosted" the video.

"I like to walk with my family," she said in the video, while ice cubes were thrown at her - probably to illustrate the extreme weather conditions.

"As you can see, people have made the weather here out to be a little more dramatic than it is. The storm has obviously passed and moved on to Tallahassee. I think it's a beautiful night out here [...] I feel great," she added.

She says it's a satirical parody

It is worth remembering that the hurricane left many dead, injured and caused considerable destruction.

Nevertheless, she wrote under the post: "All joking aside, I hope everyone is well. My heart goes out to everyone affected by the storm."

However, many fans did not find the video funny at all and accused the blonde of making fun of the tragedy.

Simpson defended herself and explained that many people who were actually affected by the situation had commented and laughed. Her family had also been affected by the storm.

She herself said afterwards that it was a satirical parody of modern newsreaders.
